Domaine Mon is a small vineyard and winery where only Pinot Gris is cultivated. It was established in the spring of 2016 by Atsuo Yamanaka (Yamanaka Atsuo), who trained in cultivation and winemaking for two years (2014-2016) under Mr. Takahiko Soga of Domaine Takahiko. It is located at an altitude of around 50 meters in Noborimachi, Yoichi District, Hokkaido, covering about 3 hectares (with a cultivation area of 1.5 hectares, 5,000 plants).

The location of the vineyard had been abandoned for over 15 years, so it was overgrown with birch trees, pines, and had turned into a forest. Each tree was cut down one by one with a chainsaw, the branches were cleared, carried out, and then the stumps were uprooted and the ground was leveled. It's a task that they would never want to do again.

The vineyard is on an east-facing slope that gets plenty of sunlight. The drainage is good, and since it hadn't been used for many years, there are no residues of pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilizers. A variety of organisms, including earthworms, ladybugs, spiders, grasshoppers, and ants, inhabit the field.

From the upper part of the sloping vineyard, you can get a spectacular view that encompasses the Sea of Japan and Hirotsu Vineyard. The sun shines from sunrise, and there's good ventilation, creating a blessed environment.

The previous owners of this vineyard, the Iino family, have a history that dates back to 1897 (Meiji 30), when Tetsujiro Iino migrated from Toyama to this land. It was a farming household that lasted for four generations. Due to the slope, they couldn't cultivate rice, so at the time, they grew crops like corn, millet, foxtail millet, and horse feed. I'm grateful to take over a vineyard with a history of more than 100 years of cultivation. At the same time, I aim to continue farming every day with dedication, ensuring the vineyard's history doesn't come to an end.
