After a year of training under Agnès Paquet and another year under the Rhone master Jean-Louis Chave, Nicolas Faure joined DRC in May 2010. He fulfilled his cultivation duties there for nearly five years until he left in March 2015.

Meanwhile, in March 2011, he had the fortunate opportunity to lease a plot of approximately 50-year-old vines in the lieu-dit "Les Herbues", located at the northeastern tip of Nuits-Saint-Georges, bordering Vosne-Romanée, under a fermage (land lease) agreement. From that year, he began making his own wine.

He adopted DRC's methods in both cultivation and winemaking, and for the barrel aging of "Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Herbues", he uses barrels that have been used once or twice by DRC (the AOC is strictly confidential).

"I am pursuing three points: aroma, complexity, and long aftertaste" (Nicolas Faure).

In 2014, although it was a very small area, he acquired his dream vineyard (Côteaux Bourguignons and AC Bourgogne), becoming a bona fide domaine.

In March 2015, he received a passionate call from Henri-Frédéric Roch, one of the co-owners of DRC, to join Roch's own domaine "Prieuré Roch". Since then, he took over the cultivation and winemaking of the domaine.

In July 2017, he amicably left Prieuré Roch to become the vineyard manager at Berthaut-Gerbet (the principal, Amélie Berthaut, is Nicolas's girlfriend 😊).
