Domaine Takahiko Nana-Tsu-Mori Blanc de Noir 2017 750ml
My philosophy of winemaking is about expressing the thoughts and philosophies of the maker, as well as the terroir and culture of the land, within the wine. I make wine to express these elements, not because I wanted to become a business manager, which is why I started Domaine. As much as possible, I want to be a solemn winemaking farmer (vigneron) and an artisan with my own philosophy. The only thing I do not want to do is to make wine that lacks thought and is led only by form and image. Even now, I am exploring how small a scale I can manage for my own winemaking. I believe that the larger the scale, the harder it is to make wine filled with thought.
Moreover, I believe that the wine I envision cannot be made unless one is a farmer. There is a word "winemaker," but I don't think that word is necessary for wine. This is because wine is made in the field. What is wine? What is terroir? I want to remain a vigneron, continually seeking answers that can't be found.
