One parcel was planted in 1986, the other by François in 2005, both on the lower slope where the subsoil is fine river alluvium. Production is around 9,000 bottles a year, farming organic without certification, and Fines, the importer in Japan, lists the 2020 at 13% alcohol. When Bill Nanson tasted the 2020 with François in November 2021 for Burgundy-Report, the fruit was described as four parcels on both sides of the village.

Whites here are pressed pneumatically, settled hard and fermented on native yeasts over three to four months. This cuvée spent about ten months in oak before being racked to tank for two months ahead of bottling, according to both the technical sheet and the importer; the domaine's current web page gives twelve months in barrel and four to six in tank, so the regime has since lengthened. On 2020 itself, François told Nanson: "It was, globally, not bad. We were about 30% below the authorised maximum yield for reds and about 15% down for the whites." Terroir Journal puts the Côte d'Or harvest from 20 August, two weeks ahead of average, after the driest summer in twenty years.

François Mikulski, son of a Polish father and a Meursault mother, spent 1983 with Josh Jensen at Calera before joining his uncle Pierre Boillot in 1984; he took over the Boillot vines under métayage on his uncle's retirement in 1991, and 1992 was his first vintage, per Fines. His son-in-law Thomas Boccon is named as the next generation.

In the glass

Nanson (Burgundy-Report, December 2021), tasting during élevage, found a smaller but pretty nose and a wide, mineral, fresh palate, and singled out the finish as "gorgeous, complex, pure and moreish." Raphaël Gimenez-Fauvety (De Corps et d'Esprit, Paris), whose 2020 note the domaine publishes on its own site, describes very ripe pear with Brazil nut, pecan and almond, white peach and white flowers under a menthol lift, then a creamy palate of baked pear and apple, quince and bitter orange, ending on a powerful, almost tannic finish he attributes to the extraction of the vintage.

When to open

Le Carré des Vins gives 2022–2027, holding to 2028 and beyond, at 11–12°C; Fines suggests 6–12°C.
