Beau Paysage Tsugane La Montagne 2018

Beau Paysage is the domaine of Eishi Okamoto in the Tsugane area of Hokuto, Yamanashi, at about 800 metres. Okamoto moved here in 1999 and began with 0.7 hectares of Merlot; today he farms around 3 hectares in some ten parcels, without ploughing, herbicides or fertilisers, in an approach inspired by Masanobu Fukuoka. Sulphites are in principle not used, apart from a small dose before bottling for some wines. Every label carries the line "A glass of wine can change the world."

La Montagne is the domaine's Merlot, from its original Tsugane plantings.
