Domaine Atsushi Suzuki Tomo Rouge 2025 750ml
Domaine Atsushi Suzuki Tomo Rouge 2025
Domaine Atsushi Suzuki is the estate of Atsushi Suzuki in the Nobori district of Yoichi, Hokkaido, founded in 2015 after he trained at Domaine Takahiko. He took over about 5.6 hectares of gently east-facing vineyards at 60–80 metres on andesite-derived gravel, sand and clay; the main varieties are Zweigelt, Kerner, Muller-Thurgau, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Gewurztraminer. His first cellar was a stone apple store built in the early Showa era. Fermentation is with wild yeast only, with no added sugar or acid.
Tomo Rouge is named after Suzuki's wife. In earlier vintages it has been made from late-harvested Zweigelt, macerated on the skins for about 30 days and aged in old barrels. The 2025 is made from grapes grown in Yoichi.
