Beautiful airy nose of strawberries, roses and an undercurrent of turned earth. Palate mid-weight but somehow dense with more red fruit, spices, somewhat crunchy with silky tannins that hinted at toughness but with pork stew melted away. Long tart finish. I’ve been meaning to pop a bottle for a while and was worried about the wall of tannin. It felt slightly tight, but youthful and energetic, open, giving and charming. Dare I say this is a wine that will have a long life but worth sampling along the way.
