The most discussed white-wine producer in modern Burgundy. A village Meursault now in its mature drinking window.

Domaine Coche-Dury occupies a unique position in Burgundy. Founded by Jean-François Coche and now run by his son Raphaël, the estate produces a tightly limited range of white wines from Meursault and beyond, and every bottle they make is the subject of immediate worldwide demand. The house style — meticulous reductive winemaking, minimal racking, long élevage in seasoned oak — produces wines of legendary tension, length and ageing potential, and Coche-Dury has become the reference point against which all serious white Burgundy is measured.

The "village" Meursault is, in any other context, an entry-tier wine. In Coche-Dury's hands it is one of the most coveted village wines in Burgundy — frequently outscoring Premier Crus from less demanding addresses, and ageing on a Grand Cru's curve.

The 2009 vintage was warm and generous in Burgundy, producing whites of fleshier fruit and lower acidity than the great cool-climate vintages. After fifteen-plus years in bottle, the 2009 Coche-Dury Meursault is drinking in its mature window — toasted hazelnut, ripe orchard fruit, and the honeyed richness that the warmer vintages develop with age. The reductive winemaking that defined the early Jean-François era ensures the wine remains tense and alive.

A mature collector Meursault from the most cult white-wine producer in Burgundy. Drink now through 2030.
