The Deputy Editor of The Wine Advocate makes wine in an unmarked cellar in the heart of Pommard — labels glued by hand, each neck dipped in wax, barely more than a barrel of each cuvée, much of it kept for his own table.

The Coteaux Bourguignons Blanc is his quiet experiment: Aligoté woven with Chardonnay and a breath of Pinot Noir pressed white, raised in two new oak barrels. Tasted from barrel by World of Fine Wine, it was described as a fascinating blend — very fresh, and already irresistible young. A category of one, from a cellar that bottles almost nothing.
